Lighthouse (Poem)

Oceans turn, waves roll,

currents rush, winds howl,

and ships lean,

tossed against the

rugged coastline,

full of doubt.

But the keeper, perched

in this house of light,

maintains the flame,

for those who

cannot see the

craggy coast,

and the merciful

harbors where

hearts may anchor.

A promise, both

intimate covenant,

and fealty in isolation

So remote,

both for this

lighthouse keeper,

and the drifting ships.
